Christy Hogue Russell started her dancing career in Berlin, Germany at the age of two. She danced on German television when she was three. Once she moved to South Carolina she also took up jazz and never turned back. She has trained under Cherri Fustino, Debbie Roberts, Shannon Hardin, Dago Gonzalos, Keith Stewart, Paul Franklin, Susan Anderson and many more others from around the southeast. She was chosen by audition to perform in the “Hula Bowl” in Hawaii. Some performances she has been in are the University of South Carolina Company Christmas Performance, a benefit for Richland Memorial Hospital and the Southern Association of Student Councils performance. She was a member of the competitive dance company at Carolina Dance Centre. She competed at Dance Caravan, Showstoppers, Rising Star, I Love Dance, Star System, Star Power, Applause, Star Quest and many more. She was also a seasoned performer at Carowinds in Charlotte, NC. Christy won many scholarships and dance competitions in the southeast. Christy has been teaching dance classes at many studios in the Columbia and Lexington area since 1990. She has been teaching at the Center for Dance Education since 2001.
