ASHLEY CONCANNON A native of New Jersey, Ashley Concannon studied at Princeton Dance and Theatre Studio under the direction of Susan Jaffe and Risa Kaplowitz. In 2006, she was accepted into Orlando Ballet’s second company under the direction of Bruce Marks. In 2008, she returned to New Jersey to perform as a guest artist in American Repertory Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker. Ashley joined South Carolina Ballet, formerly Columbia City Ballet, in 2009 and was promoted to Demi-Soloist in 2019 and to Soloist in 2021. In her 15 years with the company, she performed lead roles in Dracula: Ballet with a Bite, as well as a variety of roles in numerous productions, including Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker and more. She also performed in productions of Lila York's Celts and George Balanchine's Serenade with Orlando Ballet. Some of her favorite roles throughout her career were "Giselle" in Ann Brodie's Carolina Ballet's production of Giselle, "The Red Maiden" in Dracula: Ballet with a Bite, “The Silver Fairy” in The Sleeping Beauty, Miranda Bailey's “Blackbird” and Rachael Leonard's "Long, Long, Long" in Beatles The Ballet, The Young Girl in Michel Fokine's Le Spectre de la Rose. Ashley is also a professional photographer specializing in dance photography. She is the photographer of the Facebook page “Through the Dancer’s Eyes,” which highlights a behind-the-scenes look at the life of professional dancers.
