The dance classes are designed for young ones to participate with a caregiver providing a carefully-calculated balance of movement and seated activities, creating an environment to stimulate development for the child while keeping both children AND their caregivers fully engaged. The class will promote cognitive, social, behavioral and motor skill development for children encouraging coordination, listening, balance, music interpretation, and imagination. All while creating the ultimate bonding experience for movers and their families. Do you need dance experience to participate?
Absolutely not! The focus of this division is to provide your little ones access to music, movement, tempo, and coordination while being supported by a caregiver. There is a mix of seated and standing activities which students may be held, however everything is adaptable, so all ages and abilities are welcome and encouraged to join.
Do Dads attend class?
YES! Any caregiver can join in dance class, and is encouraged to. The more who participate in class aids in the transfer of skills at home.
Make up Classes (Policy for First Steps Division ONLY)
The ages for the classes designate the developmental milestones that will be focused on. For example, the 0-crawlers class focuses on back and core strength, tactile and vestibular stimulation, and eye tracking. Each class can be adapted for any aged participant, so if you are unable to come to the class time you signed up for you can schedule a make up in any other class time that is convenient. Please schedule make up classes in advance.
